    Our client, a leading company in international food trading and wholesale, is seeking a Regional Sales Manager (Japanese Speaking) to oversee and drive sales in the ASEAN market. The company also offers consulting services, focusing on business expansion into the Middle East and UAE (Dubai), leveraging insights from local partners and government agencies.

    This role reports directly to the Managing Director (MD).

    【Responsibilities】
    1) Trading
    - Develop and implement strategies for expanding the company's customer base within ASEAN
    - Identifying new market opportunities, appointing new distributors for the region
    - Build strong relationships with distributors and business partners, as well as have a good understanding of consumer and market insights
    - Implement the right route-to-market as well as commercial pricing strategies to ensure revenue growth.
    - Developing strategy development and execution for the business of Japanese products.

    2) Consulting
    - Perform analysis and develop a strategic proposal for the customer based on the findings of the business analysis and research.
    - Develop and present a compelling business case story and strategy proposal.

Qualifications

  • Requirement

    【Requirements & Preferences】
    <Must>
    - Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
    - At least 5 years of experience in sales and distributor management of Japanese products in the ASEAN region.
    - Strong understanding and exposure to the ASEAN market.
    - Fluent in Japanese (JLPT N2) for speaking, listening, and writing, essential for liaising with Japanese counterparts.

    - Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members, along with an entrepreneurial mindset.
    - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
    - Outstanding communication skills, especially in sales presentations and negotiations.
    - Strong stakeholder management abilities, both internally and externally.
    - Good organizational skills and ability to work effectively across functional and regional teams.
    - An existing network with Japanese government agencies is an advantage.
    - Prior experience in the promotion of Japanese food products is a plus
