    Our client, a Japanese company in the crude oil catering business, is seeking an Assistant Manager (LNG Commercial & Asset Management). In this role, you will support the Deputy General Manager in managing a fleet of LNG carriers, ensuring smooth coordination between charterers, ship managers, and internal teams.

    Your focus will be on ensuring LNG's safe and efficient transportation while maximizing profits for the Owner.

    Reporting to: Director / Deputy General Manager

    【 Responsibilities 】

    1) Represent the Owner for a fleet of LNG carriers:
    - Manage project budgets in collaboration with ship managers.
    - Conduct marine/operational analysis.
    - Liaise with the Master, charterers, finance & accounting team, and technical & commercial teams.
    - Provide operational input to ensure contractual compliance.
    - Assist the Deputy General Manager in crisis management situations.
    - Act as a substitute for the Deputy General Manager during their absence.
    - Represent the company at industry events and meetings with owners and charterers.

    2) Ensure governance and compliance of contracts related to the fleet:
    - Oversee time charter parties, shipbuilding contracts, ship-management agreements, and insurance policies (H&M, Loss of Hire, War, and P&I).

    3) Manage commercial disputes and protect Owners' interests, including but not limited to:
    - Address and resolve potential off-hire events with charterers.
    - Review and respond to performance claims under time charter agreements.
    - Keep all stakeholders updated on the progress of any disputes.

    4) Control and review OPEX:
    - Review expenditure requests exceeding approved budgets.
    - Prepare quarterly and year-end OPEX reports with variance analysis for internal reviews.
    - Review and approve annual OPEX and dry-docking budgets.

    5) Documentation and reporting:
    - Prepare the documents required for relevant vessel contracts.
    - Review monthly OPEX reports and variance analysis submitted by ship managers.
    - Organize materials for director and shareholder meetings.

Qualifications

    【Requirements & Preferences】
    <Must>
    - Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field.
    - Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial operations within tanker shipping.
    - Strong understanding of tanker time charters, shipbuilding contracts, and related commercial agreements.
    - Proficiency in reading and interpreting basic financial statements.

    <Advantageous>
    - Bachelor’s Degree in a maritime or shipping-related field.
    - Professional qualifications such as membership with the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers or prior experience as a seafarer/mariner, particularly in LNG/tanker operations.
    - Experience in the LNG market, gained from working with a shipowner or energy company.
    - Familiarity with LNG time charters, shipbuilding contracts, and relevant commercial agreements.
    - Experience handling claims, including insurance and charter party disputes.
