Yip Pin Xiu: A Legend in the Making

Yip Pin Xiu has once again proven why she is one of Singapore's most celebrated Paralympians. The 32-year-old swimmer added two more gold medals to her already impressive collection, winning both the S2 100m and 50m backstroke events. This feat marks her third consecutive Paralympics where she has won these events, a remarkable achievement that cements her legacy as one of the greatest Paralympic swimmers in history.

Pin Xiu's victories are a testament to her unparalleled dedication, resilience, and the support system that has been with her every step of the way. She expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support from Singaporeans, saying, "I think a lot of people believed that I could do it more than I believed in myself, and I’m just so grateful for the outpouring of support and that I’m still able to do this for Singapore."

 

Jeralyn Tan: Making History in Boccia

Jeralyn Tan made history by clinching Singapore's first-ever Paralympic medal in boccia, earning a silver in the women’s individual BC1 event. Her journey to the finals was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing strategic brilliance and mental fortitude. Despite narrowly missing out on the gold in a closely contested final, Jeralyn’s achievement is monumental, making her only the fourth Paralympic medallist in Singapore's history.

Her coach, Yurnita Omar, praised Jeralyn's performance, highlighting her bravery and focus under immense pressure. Jeralyn herself was touched by the support she received from fellow Singaporeans, saying, "With support from my fellow Singaporeans, we will brave this together."

 

The Indomitable Spirit of Team Singapore
