  • Job Description

    Our client is a listed Japanese oil trading company involved in the import and export of crude oil and petroleum products. They are currently seeking a Senior Operations Specialist (Petroleum Products) to oversee trades and operations. This role will report to the Trading Deputy Managing Director based in Singapore.

    【Responsibilities】
    - Monitor and analyze market news from sources like Platts, Argus, and Reuters to stay updated on industry developments.
    - Exchange market insights, including trade activity and supply-demand balances, with market reporters and counterparties.
    - Conduct trades, including the buying and selling of petroleum products, within the company's trading system.
    - Negotiate and execute both short-term and long-term contracts.
    - Build and maintain strong relationships with oil trading companies, and refiners, and explore new business opportunities.
    - Oversee cargo operations, anticipate operational challenges, and work with the trading team to resolve issues promptly.
    - Occasionally handle full cargo operations, including vessel screening, managing contractual terms, issuing documentary instructions, voyage and discharge orders, negotiating demurrages, preparing pricing and invoices, and monitoring payments.
    - Provide support for ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the company.

Qualifications

    【Requirements & Preferences】

    <Must>
    - Minimum Diploma holder.
    - At least 5 years of experience in energy trading industry cargo operations, with a focus on petroleum products and at least 2 years of relevant experience.
    - Strong understanding of petroleum cargo logistics and shipping practices.
    - Up-to-date knowledge of trends in the petroleum trading market.
    - Fluent in English and proficient in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts.
    - Proficient in Microsoft Office and other Microsoft applications.
    - Proven track record of staying a minimum of 3 years with each employer (candidates with shorter tenure but reasonable explanations may be considered).

    <Preferable>
    - Over 10 years of energy trading industry cargo operation experience, particularly in petroleum, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
