  • Job Description

    Our client, a Japanese mechanical and electrical engineering company, specializes in indoor wiring and power transmission line construction, as well as the installation of air conditioning, water supply, and sewage systems for buildings and plants. They are currently seeking a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join their team.

    Report to: Tender Manager

    【Responsibilities】
    - Advise the Occupier, Project Manager, Engineer or any other persons in charge of the site on the measures to be taken in the interest of the safety and health of the persons employed therein.
    - Monitor the overall safety performance of the project, trend analysis, identifying unsafe conditions and procedures, and recommending corrective actions.
    - Inspect the site to determine whether there is any hazard or any description of manual labour used in the site which is of such a nature that is liable to cause risk or bodily injury to any person working or employed in the site.
    - Establish and maintain all safety and health record-keeping systems and liaise with Statutory Bodies with regard to any safety and health matters.
    - Review method statements and risk assessments submitted by various subcontractors/vendors, offering improvements or any safety requirement that needs to be incorporated and monitor compliance with the method statement while the work is being performed.
    - Schedule and carry out regular site safety inspections on subcontractors/vendors (employees) and monitor their overall compliance and performance in the project and shall review with the Project Manager regularly the subcontractors/vendor (employees) safety performance and safety activity status.
    - Conduct daily toolbox meetings.
    - Maintain proper OHSAS documentation at all.

Qualifications

  • Requirement


    【Requirements & Preferences】
    (Must)
    - Diploma in Engineering
    - 2-3 years experience as a WSH Coordinator, experience with electrical work for building
    - Independent, responsible, meticulous, analytical, and taking ownership
    - Possess WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health

    (Advantageous)
    - Experience working in a Japanese company would be a plus!
